GG082 brings GRN+GLD the fourth collaborative release from the duo of Basico & Dirty Merlin. 'Bootlegs Vol. 001' is a collection of reworks, reconstructions, remixes, and recontextualizations of two of the duo's favorite '90s Underground Hip-Hop classics.

With both Basico & Dirty Merlin starting their musical output grounded in hip-hop and the LA Beat Scene, it's only fitting that we find the duo knowingly pointing us back to their hip-hop origins in the first volume of their 'Bootlegs' series.

For 'Vol. 001,' Source Flex flips one song from West-Coast legends the Hieroglyphics, and one from East-Coast pioneers Company Flow into two frenetic and adoring high BPM reworks. Infusing new drums, synths, and breakbeats with a slew of both the original sample sources, and their hip-hop byproducts, Source Flex draws a line from the 1970s, to the 90s, and to 20XX, and beyond.

Perhaps this is far too many words to say: these are simply two lovingly crafted bootlegs for the DJs, the dancers, and the diggers.
