For his 11th solo release with the label, GRN+GLD label boss Dirty Merlin brings us the 'Break 'Em Off/Concentration Dub EP.' Much like his recent 'Ass Face EP,' GG086 is a double A-Side release featuring two underground tracks primed for the dancefloor. This time Dirty Merlin slows down the tempo, bringing us the slow burning dub-techno anthem "Concentration Dub." Slow simmering synth stabs rise, fall, and peak over its 8 minute run time until the track shifts on its axis to plunge us into its euphoric finale. Lead track "Break' Em Off" blasts us off with synth stabs of its own, however these are front and center building into a sizzling breakbeat-techno stomper. A perfect pair, both tracks evoke a vintage dance music sound drawing us back into the warehouse days of old while still keeping their feet firmly stepping into the future. Expect much more in this double A-Side format from Dirty Merlin through the end of the year.
