With the release of (GG026) GRN+GLD welcomes another first timer, Basico, to our growing cast of participants.
Starting out in Vista and after a recent move to Long Beach, Basico just recently popped up on our radar. Basico's first offering is a sprawling, yet restrained, 28 minute exploration of synth drones and ambient tones aided by a heaping dose of sample based collages and even some recorded original vocals.
This piece was composed entirely of one-take tracks, while also serving as a live soundtrack to two of his girlfriend's study sessions. "Studies" is a diligent survey into the restful, contemplative sounds that inspire both thought and peace. Dusty samples flirt with stuttering synths, while disembodied voices float by just above our heads. Waves swell, build, crash, blend, and fade away as time inevitably carries you forward.
This masterfully crafted journey is a testament to the skillful guiding hand that Basico possesses, leaving us eager to discover whats next from him. Take a seat.
